Sarah Brightman nasceu em Berkhamsted, Heetfordshire, Inglaterra, no dia 14/08/1960. Sua primeira aparição foi como membro do grupo dance Hot Gossip, com a música "Starship Trooper", em 1978, com apenas 18 anos, fazendo sucesso em todo o Reino Unido. Em 1981, fez um papel pequeno no musical “Cats”, e em 1986 ganhou renome internacional com sua participação no musical “The Phanton Of The Opera”. A partir de 1992 resolveu tentar a carreira no disco, criando um estilo no qual mistura música pop com música clássica. O reconhecimento do público veio em 1995, com o estrodoso sucesso do álbum “Flay”, mais especificamente com a música "Time to say Goodbye", dueto com Andrea Bocelli. Sarah já participou de filmes e cantou na abertura de duas olimpíadas, em Barcelona, 1992, quando interpretou junto com José Carreras a música “Amigos Para Siempre”, e em Pequim, 2008, fazendo um dueto com Liu Huan, na música “You And Me”.
